Adventure Outward. Journey Inward.
Curated journeys for adults who want more than a vacation — and know the difference.
Rings Around the Sun leads carefully assembled groups to places that are beautiful, complex, and alive.
Every trip balances movement with rest, culture with nature, adventure with time to think. We're founder-led and deliberately sized. The trips are built for adults who are past the resort phase — people who want the depth of independent travel without the logistics of figuring it out themselves.
We named the company after a rare atmospheric phenomenon: a full ring of light around the sun — visible, fleeting, and easy to miss if you're not looking up. That's what we're after. Travel that earns the word.
Expeditions to places that ask something of you. South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Africa — places with depth, history, and texture. Founder-led. 10–19 days. Thoughtfully paced.

Close to home. Far from the noise.

Never more than 10–12 people. Sized so the trip becomes yours — your pace, your questions, your moments.
Every journey is led by someone who actually knows the place. Real familiarity. Real relationship. Not a contracted guide working from a formula.
We don't try to show you everything. We go fewer places, stay long enough to understand them, and leave before the visits start to blur.
Accommodations that are genuinely lovely without the performance of luxury. The point is the place, not the hotel.
We go as guests. We learn before we arrive, spend locally while we're there, and move carefully through places that have welcomed us.
The best trips move in two directions at once. We design for both — and leave room for the thing you didn't expect to find.
You wake before the group and walk somewhere quiet. Maybe a harbor, maybe a hill. Breakfast is unhurried. The morning is planned, but not tightly — there's room for the thing you didn't expect to find.
In the afternoon: a boat, a trail, a temple, a conversation with someone who lives there. Dinner is long. The conversation goes past where it usually goes.
You sleep well. You wake and do it again.
This is a placeholder for your founder note — written in your own voice, first person, honest. Not a bio. Tell people why you built this company, what you believe about travel, and what you want them to leave with.
Two or three paragraphs. The kind of thing you'd say over a good meal if someone asked you directly.
Trip details, new journeys, and occasional field notes — when there's something worth saying. No noise.
